DESCRIPTION
On a knoll in the shelter of towering
redwoods, this romantic inn has two distinct types of
accommodations. Those in the original Belden House,
where cozy chairs around a river-rock fireplace encourage
loitering in the lounge area, are comfortable but modest
in scale. Most of the 10 rooms in the newer buildings
are larger and airier, decorated in sage green and terra-cotta
tones that recall a Mediterranean villa. Guests rave
about the accommodating service, soothing atmosphere,
and the earthy Cal-Italian cuisine served in the cozy
restaurant built to recall a French barn.
Wine
country accommodations don't come any more relaxing
or romantic. Applewood is the perfect choice for a honeymoon,
anniversary, weekend getaway or extended wine country
vacation.

CUISINE
A delicious country breakfast is served each morning
in front of the fireplaces in our restaurant dining
room or on the terrace over-looking the fountain in
our garden courtyard. In summer and fall our organic
orchard and kitchen garden provide much of the herbs,
fruits and vegetables for the restaurant. Farm fresh
eggs come from Al Mazzetti's vineyard ranch just down
the road while our organic coffee and teas come from
Taylor Maid Farms in Sebastopol.

The Applewood Restaurant is open Tuesday-Saturdays night
starting at 6:00pm. We enjoy an award winning reputation
for cuisine ... and for our exquisite wines. Our climate
controlled wine cellar located under the restaurant.
Our cellar holds bottles of wine from all of Sonoma
County's renowned wine appellations as well as a few
of those being produced by our family & friends
in Napa and even further a field, but our focus has
always been on the incredible wines being produced right
here in our own Russian River Valley. Our cellar collection
has been awarded the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence
every year since 1998. It has also won the Sonoma County
Harvest Fair's Best of Show in 2001, and double Gold
Medals in 2002, 2003 & 2004.
